Analyst Sets Price Target for Tronox (NYSE: TROX) Amidst Mixed Financials

On August 13, 2026, an analyst from China Renaissance Securities (US) Inc. set a price target of $5.00 for Tronox (NYSE: TROX). Tronox is a leading global manufacturer of titanium dioxide pigment, a product used to make paints, plastics, and paper white. The new target is 18.96% below the stock's price of $6.17 at that time.

The analyst's view may reflect the company's mixed financial results. For its second quarter of 2026, Tronox reports revenues of $868 million, a 19% increase from the previous year. As highlighted by Zacks, this sales figure beat analyst estimates, driven by an 18% rise in titanium dioxide volumes and a 61% increase in zircon volumes.

Despite higher sales, profitability is a concern. The company's adjusted loss widened to $0.51 per share, which is greater than the prior year's loss of $0.28. This loss was also worse than the expected loss of $0.39 per share. The company states that higher production, freight, and other operational costs are the main reasons for the deeper loss.

The company’s adjusted EBITDA for the quarter was $73 million. EBITDA, or Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization, is a measure of a company's operating profit. This results in an adjusted EBITDA margin of 8.4%, which shows how much operating profit Tronox makes for every dollar of revenue.

Looking ahead, Tronox expects adjusted EBITDA for the third quarter to be between $95 million and $115 million. The company anticipates that price increases for its products will help improve results. However, it also projects a moderate decrease in titanium dioxide sales volumes, which is a normal seasonal trend.
