The First Trust Intermediate Government Opportunities ETF endeavors to achieve the greatest possible total return over the long term. Under typical market conditions, the fund will commit at least 80% of its net assets, including any capital borrowed for investment purposes, to debt instruments issued or backed by the United States government, its agencies, or government-sponsored entities, collectively known as "Government Securities." Its holdings in these Government Securities encompass publicly traded U.S. Treasury products, such as bonds, notes, and bills, alongside mortgage-backed instruments like pass-through securities, collateralized mortgage obligations (CMOs), and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS).
