Exxon Mobil Corp. (NYSE: XOM) posted mixed third-quarter results, with profit exceeding expectations while revenue slightly missed forecasts.
The energy major reported earnings per share of $1.88, above the consensus estimate of $1.83. Revenue totaled $85.3 billion, just below analyst projections of $86.48 billion.
Net production rose by 139,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day to 4.8 million barrels, driven by higher output in Guyana and the Permian Basin. Operating cash flow reached $14.8 billion, while free cash flow stood at $6.3 billion.
Exxon Mobil returned $9.4 billion to shareholders during the quarter through dividends and buybacks and increased its fourth-quarter dividend to $1.03 per share.
