NetEase (NASDAQ: NTES) Q2 2026 Earnings: Revenue Surpasses Expectations Despite EPS Miss

NetEase (NASDAQ: NTES) is a leading internet and game services provider based in China. The company is primarily known for developing and operating some of the country's most popular online and mobile games. It also offers other services, including music streaming, online education, and e-commerce platforms.

On August 20, 2026, NetEase reported its second-quarter financial results. The company announced an earnings per share of $1.77. This performance missed the consensus analyst estimate, which was projected to be $2.31 per share for the same period.

However, the company's revenue significantly surpassed expectations. Revenue for the quarter came in at RMB 30.1 billion, which is approximately $4.40 billion. This figure exceeded the estimated revenue of $4.33 billion, showing strong top-line growth for the company.

This revenue strength comes mainly from its games and related value-added services. This segment generated RMB 25 billion, marking a 10% increase from the prior year. As highlighted by PR Newswire, CEO William Ding attributes this to players' growing enthusiasm for the company's game portfolio.

Despite strong revenue, non-GAAP net income declined compared to the previous year, mainly due to investment losses. NetEase maintains a healthy financial state with a low debt-to-equity ratio of 0.07 and a current ratio of 3.28. A current ratio above 1 indicates a company has enough assets to cover its short-term liabilities.
