Morgan Stanley analyst Axel Stasse has initiated coverage on the European low-cost airline Ryanair Holdings plc (NASDAQ: RYAAY). The analyst gives the airline stock an Overweight rating and a price target of $62.90. Based on its stock price of $58.81 at the time of the announcement, this new target suggests a potential increase of 6.95% for the airline’s shares.
The analyst’s positive rating reflects Ryanair’s strong operational performance. As highlighted by Zacks Investment Research, Ryanair has now seen seven consecutive months of traffic growth. The company also projects that its fiscal 2027 passenger traffic will increase by 4% to 216 million passengers, indicating sustained travel demand for its services.
To manage operating expenses, Ryanair plans to offset modest cost inflation with fuel hedging and other controls. The company’s financial health is also supported by a strong cash position, ongoing debt repayments, and active share buybacks. Share buybacks reduce the number of shares outstanding, which can increase the value of the remaining shares for investors.
Despite these strengths, Ryanair’s stock price has recently declined. In a contrasting view, Zacks Investment Research assigns the stock a Zacks Rank of #5 (Strong Sell). This rank, which focuses on earnings-estimate trends, suggests its stock outlook is not as strong as that of competitor Allegiant Travel Company (NASDAQ: ALGT), which holds a #2 (Buy) rank.
