Jefferies Maintains 'Hold' on BlackSky Technology Inc. (NYSE:BKSY) Amidst Price Target Adjustment and Strong Revenue Growth

On August 9, 2026, analyst firm Jefferies reviewed its outlook on BlackSky Technology Inc. (NYSE:BKSY). BlackSky is a real-time geospatial intelligence company that uses its satellite constellation and AI platforms to provide monitoring services. The firm maintained its "Hold" rating on BlackSky, suggesting the stock is expected to perform in line with the broader market outlook.

Jefferies lowered its price target for BlackSky to $33.00 from a previous target of $50.00. A price target is an analyst's projection of a stock's future price. At the time of the rating, the stock was trading at $29.16. The new target, while lower, still suggests some potential upside from its price when the rating was published.

The cautious stance may be linked to the company's profitability. As highlighted by Zacks Investment Research, BlackSky reported a second-quarter loss of $0.32 per share. Although this was better than the estimated loss of $0.38 and an improvement from the prior year, it shows the company is not yet profitable on a net income basis.

However, the "Hold" rating is supported by strong top-line performance. The company's revenue increased by 50% year-over-year to $33.30 million, driven by its Gen-3 satellite services. This figure surpassed revenue estimates by 11.94%, indicating strong demand for its imagery and AI services, which now generate an annualized run rate of $100.00 million.

BlackSky also shows signs of improving operational efficiency. The company achieved a positive Adjusted EBITDA of $4.70 million. Adjusted EBITDA measures a company's operating profit before non-cash expenses like depreciation. This positive result, combined with flat operating costs, signals that the business is becoming more profitable as it grows.
