Robert W. Baird Lowers Price Target for Fidelity National Information Services (NYSE:FIS) Amidst Mixed Q2 Earnings

An analyst at Robert W. Baird has lowered their price target for Fidelity National Information Services (NYSE:FIS) to $48.00 from $54.00. FIS, a leading global financial technology company, provides essential software and services to banks and capital markets. The new price target represents a potential 8.44% upside from the stock's price of $44.27 at the time of the rating.

The fintech company recently reported its second-quarter 2026 financial results. Its adjusted earnings per share (EPS) was $1.48, beating analyst estimates by 0.7%. EPS, a key profitability metric, shows how much profit a company makes for each share of its stock. This figure also represents an 8.8% increase compared to the same period last year.

This strong performance was driven by robust revenue growth of 29% year-over-year, reaching $3.40 billion. As highlighted by Zacks, a key factor was the impressive 44% revenue increase in its Banking Solutions segment. CEO Stephanie Ferris noted that banks are actively investing in modernization and AI solutions, choosing FIS as their preferred partner, as reported by Gurufocus.

Despite these positive operational results, the company's revenue of $3.40 billion slightly missed the consensus estimate by 0.2%. Furthermore, higher costs of revenues impacted the overall financial gains. FIS also revised its 2026 outlook downward for revenues, EBITDA, and EPS, which likely influenced the analyst's price target adjustment.
