AbbVie (NYSE: ABBV) Exceeds Q2 2026 Earnings and Revenue Forecasts

AbbVie (NYSE: ABBV), a leading global biopharmaceutical company, discovers, develops, and sells a diverse range of medicines. Its core business areas encompass immunology, oncology, neuroscience, and aesthetics. The company was poised to release its second-quarter 2026 earnings, with financial analysts closely monitoring its performance against market expectations.

Ahead of its Q2 2026 earnings report, analysts had anticipated earnings of $3.60 per share. AbbVie significantly surpassed these projections, delivering an adjusted diluted earnings per share (EPS) of $3.65. Adjusted EPS is a crucial financial metric that excludes one-time expenses to provide a clearer view of a company's ongoing operational profitability. The official reported earnings, or GAAP EPS, stood at $2.03.

AbbVie also successfully exceeded revenue forecasts. While Wall Street estimated revenue of $16.78 billion, AbbVie reported robust net revenues of $16.99 billion. This impressive 10.2 percent increase in revenue was primarily fueled by its high-performing Immunology segment, which features blockbuster drugs Skyrizi and Rinvoq, collectively generating $8.79 billion in sales.

The Neuroscience portfolio also demonstrated strong performance, achieving 20.3 percent growth and contributing $3.23 billion in revenue. Conversely, the Oncology portfolio experienced a slight decrease of 1.5 percent. Furthermore, as highlighted by PR Newswire, AbbVie announced a strategic agreement to acquire Apogee Therapeutics (NASDAQ: APGE), aiming to further expand its innovative immunology treatments pipeline.

Following these positive results, AbbVie updated its full-year 2026 guidance for adjusted diluted EPS. The company now anticipates a range of $13.87 to $14.07. This revised forecast incorporates the financial impact of the planned Apogee Therapeutics acquisition and accounts for other research and development expenses incurred throughout the year.
