Roth Capital Reaffirms 'Buy' Rating for PolyPid (NASDAQ: PYPD) Amidst Strategic Partnership

Analyst firm Roth Capital reiterates its "Buy" rating for PolyPid. PolyPid is a pharmaceutical company developing treatments to prevent infections after surgery. The rating was issued on July 21, 2026, when the stock was priced at $3.86, reflecting confidence in the company's direction and recent developments.

This positive outlook follows a major announcement from PolyPid. As highlighted by GlobeNewswire, the company entered an exclusive partnership with Azurity Pharmaceuticals. This deal is for the commercialization of its lead product, D-PLEX₁₀₀, in the United States and Canada. The product is designed to prevent surgical site infections (SSIs).

The agreement provides significant financial potential for PolyPid. It could receive over $320 million in total payments, with $30 million paid upfront and in the near term. PolyPid will also earn royalties, which are a percentage of sales, ranging from the mid-teens to mid-twenties on future sales.

The partnership builds on strong clinical results for D-PLEX₁₀₀. The Phase 3 SHIELD II trial successfully met its main goal and showed a 60% relative risk reduction in SSIs. Following this success, PolyPid has submitted a New Drug Application (NDA) to the FDA, targeting a U.S. launch in the first quarter of 2027.

Despite this news, PolyPid's stock recently traded at $3.74, a decrease of 27.38% for the day. The company has a market capitalization of approximately $38.11 million. Market capitalization is the total value of all a company's shares of stock, calculated by multiplying the share price by the number of shares.
