Dynatrace (NYSE: DT) reported fiscal fourth-quarter 2026 results that exceeded Wall Street expectations for both revenue and adjusted earnings per share. However, the stock declined after the report, as investors appeared to focus on Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), guidance, and broader pressure on software stocks.
Dynatrace is a software company that provides an AI-powered observability platform. Its platform helps businesses monitor, analyze, and optimize the performance of applications, infrastructure, security, and digital experiences. In an “AI-first world,” CEO Rick McConnell said observability is becoming mission-critical for a much larger share of workloads.
On May 13, 2026, Dynatrace announced results for the fourth quarter and full fiscal year ended March 31, 2026. The company reported GAAP net income per diluted share of $0.06 and non-GAAP net income per diluted share of $0.41. On an adjusted basis, Dynatrace beat the $0.39 estimate.
Revenue performance was also stronger than expected. Dynatrace generated total revenue of $531.7 million, up 19% year over year, compared with analyst expectations of about $521 million. Subscription revenue reached $505.8 million, also up 19% from the prior-year period. The company also surpassed $2 billion in ARR. Total ARR reached $2.054 billion, up 18% year over year, or 16% on a constant-currency basis.
Following the announcement, Dynatrace shares fell sharply. Barron’s reported that the stock dropped about 13% to $34.11, while Investor’s Business Daily reported a decline of around 12%. The move came even though Dynatrace beat profit and revenue expectations, suggesting that investor concerns were focused more on ARR expectations, guidance, and the broader software-sector backdrop than on a simple EPS miss.
Dynatrace’s balance sheet remains solid. As of March 31, 2026, the company had current assets of $2.12 billion and current liabilities of $1.57 billion, implying a current ratio of about 1.35. Total liabilities were $1.80 billion, compared with shareholders’ equity of $2.61 billion.
For fiscal 2027, Dynatrace guided for total revenue of $2.317 billion to $2.335 billion and non-GAAP EPS of $1.93 to $1.95. The company also expects ARR of $2.382 billion to $2.402 billion for the full fiscal year.
